Does my siding need replacing?
Signs include cracked, warped or loose panels, heavy fading, soft spots underneath, and stains or peeling paint on interior walls. We check and photograph what we find, and we’ll tell you if it doesn’t need replacing.
Why does what’s behind it matter?
The sheathing and weather barrier behind the siding do much of the work of keeping water out. Once new siding goes up you’ll never see them again, so we photograph them first.
What do you install?
Two kinds: vinyl siding from domestic manufacturers, not imports, and James Hardie fiber cement, the siding most people call Hardie board. Compare the two

Vinyl or Hardie board: which is right for your house?
Both are good siding. They’re good at different things, and the right one depends on your budget, your house and how much upkeep you want.

If you want a clean, low-upkeep exterior at a sensible price, vinyl does that well. If you want the heavier, more solid feel of painted siding, like the option to change colors down the road, and don’t mind paying more up front, Hardie board is worth pricing. We install both, so we can price your house both ways and you can compare real numbers instead of guessing.
