The challenge
At a 10/12 pitch, this is a steep roof. It has 23 roof sections, about 49 feet of valleys, 148 feet of hips and walls where the roof meets the house. That means lots of flashing.
What we did
We inspected and documented the damage and helped with the insurance claim. On install day the crew:
- Tore off the old roof and replaced damaged decking with new OSB
- Installed ice and water shield along every eave and valley
- Installed CertainTeed RoofRunner synthetic underlayment and SwiftStart starter
- Installed 51 new step flashings and 27 pieces of apron flashing where the roof meets the walls
- Installed new drip edge and CertainTeed Shadow Ridge hip and ridge caps
- Finished with CertainTeed Landmark shingles
The result
A complete CertainTeed Landmark roof with new step and apron flashing at the walls.
